As part of an inquiry into the concept of “buzz bands” in indie rock, Stop Peter Bjorn and John was conceived in advance of the 2007 South by Southwest festival as an experiment in “antibuzz.” It attempted to use blogging technology to check the spread of the Swedish band Peter Bjorn and John. Despite garnering links from such sites as Gawker, Idolator, Entertainment Weekly, and the Los Angeles Times, this experiment failed to impede the band’s progress.
